Stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance, proper hardness and good gloss, which are the advantages compared with carbon steel. However, the wear resistance and hardness of stainless steel are lower than carbon steel and the price is comparatively higher. 304 grade stainless steel is very ideal for those products who requires good corrosion and rust resistance with moderate tensile strength, which is commonly used in stamping. It is not difficult to weld stainless steel. Arc welding is the generally used method. Gas protection should be dealt with properly during the welding. Additionally, for the products with high requirement, back protection should be provided and the welding heat should be controlled as low as possible.
